Trains are air-conditioned and the platform has women-and-children-only carriages clearly marked in pink — fines for misuse start at AED 100.

Practical tips

Eating, drinking and chewing gum on the metro is fined AED 100. Sleeping on benches is fined AED 300. Bring an empty water bottle and refill at the platform fountain after the gates. Wi-Fi is free network-wide. Pay with the Nol card at any station kiosk, vending machine, or via the RTA Dubai app.
